Part 2 - The Trip

What's it really like to be on the road, away from home, every day for a year?

It's not really important to retrace our steps, but what we think is important is to get a feel for what it is like to travel for an extended period of time. Although our trip was in a camping van, your trip might be by boat or backpack - whatever your mode of movement the same principles apply.

This section will reveal a lot about the issues that we faced and how we handled them "on the fly." No matter how prepared you are for your adventure, each day will be endured or enjoyed based on how you react to all the scenarios you will face. And that is something we can't predict for you. It is also part of what makes the journey a trip of a lifetime.

Phil and Carol are experts on this topic. They have lived and experienced every word of Live Your Road Trip Dream.

The White's are recently retired from the everyday work world. This trip was a year in the talking, learning, researching and planning stages, and a year in the execution of the actual adventure.

During Phil's 26-year career, he was a small business owner of a retail men's clothing store. His skills in listening to people and engaging them in informative conversation were invaluable on the trip.

Carol comes from the other end of the sales and marketing spectrum, having retired from the corporate giant, Lucent Technologies, in 1999. Her 35 years in computing and telecommunications garnered her a wealth of experience.
